CMD/CTRL

CMD/CTRL is what CMD/CTRL does: We are not here to belong to a genre or adapt ourselves to any rules we just do what we instinctively feel like we want to do. We take the “roll the dice” approach and unapologetically make music with no boundaries that is bass driven whilst on a twisted distorted highway.

Founding member, Matt Rose, first signed to Ninja Tune in 2014 with the band The Qemists, co-writing their sophomore album, Spirit In The System. He then joined tech-metallers, Monuments, co-writing their debut album, Gnosis, as well as contributing towards their second album with the singles I, The Creator and Atlas.

In 2015, Matt collaborated with Dirtyphonics on their Write Your Future EP which was released on Steve Aioki’s Dimmak label, leading to a collaboration with Bass Music heavyweight, Excision, for the single Again & Again, featured on the Excision 2015 Mix Compilation.

Soon after forming in 2018, CMD/CTRL signed to Just Isn’t Music and began honing their sound. They released an EP and two singles whilst landing some impressive sync placements with brands such as Sky, Ford, Nintendo, Adidas, EA Sports, O2, and Samsung.

2022 saw CMD/CTRL sign to NWS. Their first NWS single, No Stress, released late summer 2022 and was well received in the dance community as well as gaining mainstream radio airplay. CMD/CTRL’s upcoming single, Common Ground, is set for release in November 2023, with more new music to follow from them next year.
